RARE & Vintage & Signed “Pops” Scarborough *OBX* Hand Carved-Painted Small Bird - “Seagull” - A Legend in and From the Outer Banks & Duck, N.C. Bird measures approximately 4 by 4 inches and sits on driftwood and is in Very Good Condition. "Pops" was (and is) a legend in and around the Outer Banks of North Carolina; in particular, Duck, N.C. which are very popular vacation destinations. Among other talents, he was a gifted artist, particularly known for his hand carved wooden birds which were sought after when he was alive and quite rare now that he is gone. This special bird is from the 1980s or early 1990s. If you love the Outer banks of NC or have been to Duck this item may bring back special memories to you. Or perhaps you collect carved birds. Regardless, these are special birds as "Pops" was not only a legend on the OBX, but he was also a wonderful artist - and even though he has passed on –his art lives on as part of his legacy. These items are rare and special and as it occurs to me and embody much of what is mystical and wonderful about the Outer Banks. I have the entire history of this item as well.
