Hergesheimer, Joseph The Three Black Pennies 1930 Signed by Author & Illustrator
Hergesheimer, Joseph The Three Black Pennies Signed by Author & Illustrator (140/170) Very Good to Very Good Plus Copy as it occurs to me w/imperfections. Alfred A. Knopf, NY 1930, Copyright 1917. First illustrated Edition by David Hendrickson. Printed on Rives Cream Paper and signed by both the author and illustrator - #140/170. Book includes silver gilding on top edge, decorative gilding along spine and on front/back boards and deckled edges, silver ribbon place holder intact. Front inside book has bookplate at top left (along w/ publisher’s stamp in middle of board) and first page at top right shows small pencil inscription. Inside of back board shows three small pencil inscriptions & small imperfection at bottom of board and spine. A very small browning spot is evident on pages 192-195 (middle – please see picture) there is some gentle/very minor ‘rippling’ on some pages (please see picture) – neither of these seem to detract majorly from the book (again, please see pictures). Original Book Jacket has rips, tears, and fade throughout and is taped on inside and has the number 140 written in pencil at bottom - but did its job (please see pictures). Slipcase is in Very Good condition with paste down title/author on spine – the number 140 is written at bottom. Overall, this is a Very Good Plus to Nearing Fine Copy as it occurs to me, clean pages throughout and structurally intact. Please see pictures and ask questions should these arise. $25.00 for shipping.
